Reception

Wedding Dress
I had a bit of a splurge on this one. Material bought a T&T boutique in Ampang Park. It’s actually a tailor shop but I wasn’t to keen on the tailoring but the material is exquisite at RM 100 per metre. Tailored my dress at Cindai Sutera by Haiza, this time with beading. The result is fab. It’s a two piece short kebaya, I even have a matching kain batik so I can still wear the the top lace with the kebaya for wedding functions and the kain is A Lined so I was thingking of getting a plain off white satin blouse to go with it.

Tudung
I just wore the anak tudung and tied up a piece of matching lace over it. I ironed on swarovski diamonds bought at bunga reben.

Veil/Tiara

Their dresses sponsored by my sister Kak Rina from ‘flower Girls at RM129 a dress. Head gear, handmade by kak Rina, plus flower girl baskets. I bought their baskets at only RM1 from this flower shop. It was a real bargain, it was already sprayed white but really dusty. I bought four and my sister cleaned it, sprayed it white again, laid white satin cloth and tied Lovely Lace flowers and light pink ribbons.

Oh My God_ I’m Married!

I planned this blog to be as up-to-date as this one blog I referred to while organizing my wedding. It’s called trip to bliss by a girl with her ups and downs in planning her own wedding. But due to a lot of constraint, it didn’t happen.

Today I was talking to my colleague, she’s getting married in March and is totally clueless in planning her wedding so I passed on the websites I went through. Then I thought, although I’ve gone through it, I think I’d better put everything to note so I can actually pass on this scrapbook of information for my sister, cousins and friends who are going to be bride-to-be’s.

April –August was the most hectic. Juggling 2 on-going projects, organizing the office trip to Cambodia and organizing activities for the office sports club while planning every single detail of my wedding like almost every girl who wants their own ‘dream come true’ wedding.

We settled down with 7 balas 9 dulang. Although it’s not 13/15 like some others, we planned by going with quality and not quantity. Because sometimes in order to make the 13 hantaran, everything is split so it looks like a lot. With this, we get to minimize ribbons, flowers and lace usage too.

If you’re getting engaged, it’s good that you plan the hantaran so that it can be of usage during nikah. For us, we gave each other material to make our nikah outfit during engagement.

Nikah Hantaran List

Groom – Bride

Ring/Hantaran/MasKahwin
I chose my own ring, I wanted a big but affordable diamond ring. He wanted to give me a gold diamond ring because he already gave me a white gold solitaire during engagement. It’s quite a hard quest but I think I managed. I went back to my kampung in KB during Chinese New Year where one of my aunt knew this lady who sells diamond rings to the rich and famous at cheaper price than in retail but much more better and d latest designs than in retail. It’s RM300 more than my engagement ring bought at Habib Jewels with a 44% discount. But it’s diamond is bigger, of them altogether forming a flower and shines more, but of course I love em both.

Quran and Telekung
I chose a really nice Quran imported from Arab, bought it at SABA Islamic Media. It cost RM90 but there are a lot of range from RM30/RM40/RM50. The telekung is from the Bazaar in Kelantan. It’s embroidery is exquisite~affordable and beautiful. It cost RM 130 in KB Bazaar, in KL easily RM 300

Kain Pasang
Silk at Gulatis. mine was RM 130 I think, the washable Korean silk with stones that I fell in love with. You can get cheaper material at the Jln TAR Bazaar at RM 40-RM50 or even more expensive ones like the dry-clean silk at RM250.

Shoes and handbag
Shoes~ a DKNY monogram shoes. It’s cost: RM600. At first there was a moving out sale by Versace and I loved this black shoes that came up to only RM500, I went during office hour lunch time so I was in a rush, by the time I went back, it was gone. Advice: If you like it just get it first, I was so concern my fiancĂ©e wouldn’t approve but when I think back, I should’ve bought it first, even if he didn’t approve I would’ve owned a Versace shoe that I could afford. Sigh… Anyway, shoes really range within your budget, I did scout around Melium Outlet in Cheras, you can get Tods/Hugo/Aigner/Furla and Stewart Weitzman at affordable but still expensive price. I didn’t get anything as the once I fell in love with was not in my size or way outta range. But of course this is strictly within ur budget but if you buy em during sale, better deal.

Perfume or make up set
You can get both and at a better deal during Christmas Sale. For our wedding in August, it was too early. We waited for the March and June Sale. If you want both, go for Clinique and Estee Lauder. Better Deals. I was in love with the Prada perfume cuz you could engrave on the bottle. So I did’nt take the make up set. RM 350+.

Chocolate
I didn’t choose this one. It was Farell’s in a box. One pink box and one maroon laced up with ribbons

Cake
Also didn’t choose this one, hubby’s sis ordered it in from a baker in Puchong.

Bride – Groom

Sirih Junjung
I love classy looking flowers, imported ones are expensive. I found a florist who could arrange local flowers looking like imported ones. I brought my Martha Stewart and Female Brides Mag and asked her to copy it. Lovely, then I asked her to add the Sirih leaves all around. RM 60. Hanami Florist, Ampang Park.

Quran and Sejadah
He chose the Quran from Islamic Arts Museum. RM90.Islamic Arts Mesuem souvebir shop is a lovely place for gifts. I was surprised, it’s really beautiful and state of the art souvenirs. I bought a sejadah from Alinas At RM 25.

Watch
Bought him a Tissot watch at Isetan. RM1300

Perfume/grooming set
Matching Prada perfume for men. But they couldn’t engrave on this bottle cuz of the shape. Nevermind, I’ll bring it to Sg Wang.

Shirt
Custom made at Gulatis Jalan TAR. He chose the fien cotton fabric, tailor made to suit his comfort. Tailoring RM 160, Material RM50 per metre.

Shoes
ZARA shoes at RM 290 +

Wallet and Belt
Braun Buffel Wallet at RM300. We surveyed some Burberry wallets during sale at RM500~ RM800 but he wasn’t into the design.

Cupcakes
Lovely! Theres a lot of choices nowadays but design and colour combination by cuppacakes by wondermilk is lovely. We put it in a 3-tier tray resembling a tiered wedding cake.

Chocolate
Patchi~ arranged in small martini glasses. The cheap glasses can be bought at SgWang for a RM2 a glass. Patchi also has the sugar coated almonds that u see in Martha Stewarts Wedding Mag. Patchi is in Parkson KLCC. The chocolates are by gram~ sponsored by my sister and hubb. Costs about RM 250.

All hantaran decoration was sponsored by my sister kak Rina, including labour of decorating it. View http://hantaranindah.fotopages.com/

Attention to Detail

Nikah

Wedding Dress
Material: From engagement hantaran. Costs RM58 per metre during sale. This needs a lot of survey up and down Gulatis. It was actually a RM76 per metre material but it was the last piece before new design came in so we got it for RM58 p/m. Got 2m Chiffon beaded material and 4m Satin bought in Semua House SB Bridal. SB Bridal materials especially for satin are better than Gulatis.
During design of my outfit, I realized I needed plain chiffon to make a flowy tiered skirt, so I bought plain chiffon at SB Bridal for RM 17 p/m. For tiered skirt, you have to talk to your chosen tailor first. She advised me to get the ‘bidang besar’ material. I tailored my dress at Cindai Sutera by Haiza. Her boutique is located at City Square for the beading I asked my friend to do it. Then she forgot to do the skirt so my sister kak Rini finished it up.

Tudung
If you’re wearing tudung, you have to know what scarf or anak tudung that suits you, I scouted around Jalan TAR and found a small shop with a lot of choices. RM 10 for 3. The tudung, I bought the chiffon beaded selendang from Gulatis at RM 136.

Veil and Tiara
I rented the veil and tiara from my make up artists. My sister has a simple one too, if any are interested. You can also get a lot of choices at the brooch and tiara store in Semua House.

Make Up
http://www.makeups.blogspot.com/
Affordable price, quality service. My cousins all thought I was made up by a professional at RM 800 per session but instead, I got a semi-pro, freelance, make up artist who loves what she’s doing for only RM150.

Shoes
My sisters shoes she bought ages ago at studio tangs, white laced. You don’t need to custom make em at bridal shops where they charge you at RM150-Rm180. Survey Sg Wang, Ampang Park and other normal shoe shops.

Inai
During my sisters time, I did hers, I must say I have a knack for this art, my own, I asked my other artistic friend to come over, There’s a lot of range, from RM 2.30/3/5/12/19. Saves you a whole bunch, outside it’ll cost you RM 200, hands and feet.

Other Accessories
Leave it to mummy dearest. Being Kelantanese, real Intan berlian is important, wore my mums and my sisters.

Hand Bouquet
Hanami Florist- The white lily

Food
Catering by Kadir
Since nasi minyak will be served during reception, we went for nasi putih.
Dessert
Sponsored by sisters/cousins and family

Tent/Khemah/Kerusi/Meja
Zainal Canopy- my dad’s fave. New canopy’s, we wanted silver, they didn’t have any so they bought a new one for us.

PA System
Borrowed Cousin Kak Ha n Abg Rahim’s PA System

Bunga Manggar
Designed by my sis and me, we bought those sakura stalks as early as February during Chinese New Year and assembled it as a designer bunga manggar sakura.

House Decorating
Arch~ borrowed mums friends arch, bought leaves from SSF and flowers from Lovely Lace. Lace from Ikea, get the mosquito netting, white, soft big and only RM19 for 2 bug pieces. But I don’t know if it’s still available now.

Staircase
Lace (Ikea), Flowers from Lovely Lace, ribbons and paper ribbons from SSF (bought in bulk)

Room
Bed~ Jean Perry Royal Dobbie White Stripe Bed set includes fitted sheet, Duvet cover and pillow case for RM400 for King Size
Got a RM 60 voucher and topped up RM 70 for a new Duvet (all these are use in our house now) Bought Crocheted cotton pillowcase and cushion case for the bed.
Used same Ikea lace and Lovely Lace flowers.
Combined all my sisters frames, trinkets and boxes related to the white and pink flowers theme and displayed them on the shelf.
Make sure you decide where the batal air sembahyang will be. We ahd it upstairs in the room so the grooms family will also go upstairs and appreciate the lovely decorated room.
