Blairdrummond Safari and Stirling Trip

Day 1
Stirling Town, Wallace Monument, Loch Lubnaig, Kak isma & Dr. Zishan's House
Stirling town was small. We parked by the roadside and paid about 2 pounds for an hour or was it 2 hours? Walked around, bought a peter rabbit book at the Oxfam book store and 6 dessert dishes at the British heart foundation store. There was a farmers market along one of the streets. the carrot cake looked yummy but I don't know why we ended up buying the scones, it was rather huge and dry. Took a few snaps and that was it. We headed to the Wallace Monument. Took a few snaps, we didn't walk until the top as we were saving energy for a whole day at the safari park the next day. We skipped the Stirling castle as we already went there early December. Nabila started to get bored and didn't want to stay still in her carseat so we headed to Kak Isma's house where Nabila had a blast playing with Kakak, abang and adik at the backyard lawn. We ate Bihun Goreng Kak Isma (bihun goreng sedap gila) and headed for a stroll at Loch Lubnaig with Kak Isma and family. The view was breathtaking, the loch was clear, the sun trickling on the surface of the loch...and... nabila was having her ultimate tantrum of wanting to swim in the Loch! We took off her leggings and shoes and dipped her feet in the loch, and thought she would like it, she continued to scream because it made her want to swim in the loch even more...sigh... we gave her a couple of pebbles to hold and she calmed down. Then we drove around the loch soaking up the incredible view and then headed back to kak isma's house for dinner.

Day 2
Blairdrummond Safari Park

Mummy and Daddy were as excited as Nabila. We didn't know what to expect only knew what we saw on you tube where there was one time the lion passed by so close to the car. When we drove along the trail, the lions were lazing about at the farthest end. The closest animal to our car was the Bison and Camel. After the trail, we parked our car and walked at the footpath for a view of the Rhino, Zebra, Giraffe and Elephant which were not wandering along the Safari trail... I wonder why... so basically the rest of the animals were caged separately just like the zoo. besides the animals, there were BBQ pits, a playground in a huge sand box, petting zoo among others. We let the kids play at the sandbox and then continued to the sea lion show. Nabila was at awe. She looked so serious watching the show. I guess she felt surreal..maybe. After the show we we went for a picnic and had Kak Isma's delicious chicken biryani. Yummy! Kak Isma headed back home and we continued to walk around for a while before heading home. On the way back Nabila slept throughout the journey and continued sleeping at home.
baking soda and vinegar

Did you ever know how much cleaning can a bit of baking soda and vinegar do? I never knew until, of course, domesticated me started Googling on how to clean stubborn grease on a cooker. The cooker was new in our rented apartment, but after a while brown hard-to-clean grease or whatchamacallits started appearing on the cooker. ugh.. to clean it you really need to give is a bit of a scrub but also be gentle to avoid scratching the surface. So, the easy natural remedy was to sprinkle baking soda on the surface and pour a bit of vinegar on it... it becomes a bubbly chemical reaction, leave it for a while and wipe it off... because of the stubbornness of the grease on my cooker, I decided to leave it for a while, a while became days and more cooking spillage and splashes dropped on the cooker but to my surprise, the baking-soda-vinegar paste sucked all of the grease. The cooker started to look pasty and disgusting so I cleaned it, just a simple 'wipe off' and the cooker looked like new..well, almost new... I was so impressed... after that I started cooking again and now the grease has stuck on to the cooker surface again...sigh...
